San Patrignano

Belgian colours and Mathy yet again.

Day two of the San Patrignano International show jumping closed with double victory for Francois Mathy. The Belgian rider, riding his top horse Ivoor, has in fact doubled his afternoon success by winning the last competition of the day, a speed class with the Derby formula (natural fences ditch and water jump – and traditional fences). Mathy, before the ceremony, expressed his satisfaction about his results and declared: I hope this is some kind of déjavuâ¬ý. Even last year I first won the speed class with the Derby formula and then I won the Grand Prix. Today has been my lucky day; tomorrow night I hope Ill be in the condition to say, my god that was my lucky weekend. Besides tonight among the audience there were the owner of my horses, my father and my girlfriend. And that made everything even more beautiful.â¬ý

On the second place, Heinrich Engemann, on Candela and on the third, the top Italian rider for the speed class, Roberto Arioldi, on his Paprika della Loggia, an outcome of the Italian Breeding, who, in the last years, has excelled with outstanding results both in Italy and abroad. The fourth place was taken by the English rider Robert Smith on Senator and the fifth by the dutch Yves Houtackers on Copa Dora.
